About Sri Lankan International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics:-
The Sri Lankan International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics is organised by the Institute of Physics of Sri Lanka to spread awareness and promote the field of Astronomy and Astrophysics among all the students. The test also acts as a prelim exam for the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.
Syllabus:
Unlike most exams, the Sri Lankan International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics has a syllabus that consists of the local Astronomy course taught at school. So the students need not worry about where to study from. For more insight of the topics refer the following table:

Marking Scheme:-
The paper consists of two parts, viz. A and B. Part A consists of 30 multiple choice questions and Part B consists of 2 theoretical or numerical questions. The score of these questions are not specified.
Eligibility Criteria:-
The students appearing for the local competition have no age barrier but for the international competition, the student should be less than 20 years in age.
Level Of Exam:-
In order to select the best students for the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, the toughness of the exam is kept high. The questions are sophisticated and might not be straight-forward.
Exam Dates:-
The exam was held held on 16th September 2017 last year as is expected to be held around the same date this year as well.
