About International Biology Olympiad
The "International Biology Olympiad " (IBO) is an association that systematises annual Biology competition for secondary school students, who are victors of their respective National Biology Olympiad.
Their abilities in confronting biological problems, and facing with biological experiments are verified. Curiosity in biology, inventiveness, creativity and hard work are vital.
In bringing together talented students, the IBO competition attempts to challenge and excite these students to widen their talents and to promote their career as scientists.
A very important point is accumulating young people from over the world in an open, workable and peaceful mind.

I Cell biology (20 %)
Structure and function of cells and their components
Microbiology
Biotechnology
II Plant anatomy and physiology (15 %)
(with emphasis on seed plants)
III Animal anatomy and physiology (25 %)
(with emphasis on vertebrates and especially man)
IV Ethology (5 %)
V Genetics and Evolution (20 %)
VI Ecology (10 %)
VII Biosystematics (5 %)
